How We're Funded

‘Just as you excel in everything…see that you also excel in this grace of giving (2 Corinthians 8:7). Why should that be? It’s because giving is part of our response to ‘the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich’ (8:9).

So, in view of God’s grace to us, we can expect our giving to be cheerful (9:7), generous (9:6) and planned (1 Corinthians 16:2).

St Stephen’s & St Wulstan’s is dependent on the sacrificial giving of the church family and friends. Under God, our mission and ministry within and beyond our parish happens as we partner together to fund the work.

We offer ourselves to God, and our giving is joyful part of our worship of Him.

“Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” (1 Chronicles 29:14)

Regular Giving

If you can, please give by standing order. This is really helpful because it allows us to more accurately predict what giving we will receive and to plan accordingly. Please contact Laurie in the Parish Office with details of the amount, date and frequency, so that we can properly identify your giving.

Payroll Giving

This is a means of giving from your income before tax is deducted. Some employers will match an employee’s charitable giving so it is worth enquiring about your company’s policy. For more information, see the CAF website.

One-off Gifts

These can be made by bank transfer or by cheque made payable to ‘St Stephen & St Wulstan PCC’. Please contact Laurie in the Church Office with details of your gift so that we can properly identify it.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can reclaim 25% of your gift (regular and one-off) from HMRC. If that’s the case, please complete a gift aid form, which you can download below.
