Learning Christ together

Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who came to the Vision Evening this week.  For those who weren’t able to make it, and as a reminder for those who did, we considered how we might both ‘learn Christ’ ourselves and also help others to ‘learn Christ’:

Learning Christ yourself

What fresh commitment will you make to engage with God’s word and pray to him?

Helping others to learn Christ

What one thing can you do in each of these contexts to help someone else learn Christ?

• Your household – those you live with.

• The world – those who are not Christians.

• Your small group – probably your Fellowship Group.

• Church on Sundays.

It’s a good idea to tell someone else your answers to these questions, and to pray for each other in putting them into practice.  Then you can ask one another in a few weeks’ time, “How’s it going?”  And you can do the same with others you meet at church, asking them, “How did you answer those two questions?”  Imagine what a difference it will make if we’re all consciously seeking to learn Christ ourselves and to help others learn him – and encouraging one another to so more and more, consistently and regularly.

Yours warmly, in Christ,
Chris Hobbs (Senior Minister)
